Photo preparation

In the local editing setup, the experimental photo workspace processes an image in memory, then returns a preview to your browser. It does not identify fungi, save the photo, or create prediction logs. Your browser is instructed not to cache the preview response.

Field observations

Saved observations include the species you selected, location, date, notes, and optional coordinates and photograph. Photographs are normalized to JPEG, oriented, resized to fit 2,048 pixels, and stripped of metadata. Observation images remain stored until an operator removes them; they do not expire automatically.

Records and observation images are accessible to anyone who can reach this installation. Keep sensitive locations and personal details out of public records.

Browsing and editing

This version has no user accounts. Shared installations provide read-only access. Saving records and uploading photos are available only in the local editing setup on the computer running MycoIlm.

Storage

Saved records and observation photographs are kept on the computer running this installation. The person operating MycoIlm manages their backup and removal. The app uses a security cookie to protect forms and does not include third-party analytics.
